Dr. Colin
Whitfield - NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow Colin grew up near Vancouver, British Columbia. He has a co-op BSc in Environmental Science from Simon Fraser University, and a MSc and PhD in Watershed Ecosystems from Trent University. Colin joined us in January 2012 from a PDF position at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He is examining methane emission from beaver ponds at continental scales. |

Hawi Abate Fulas
- PhD student Hawi hails from Ethiopia where she obtained a BSc in Physics and a MSc in Remote Sensing and GIS. She is focused on examining groundwater-stream connectivity in a subalpine watershed - Marmot Creek Research Basin, Alberta. Hawi used chloride tracer experiments shed light on transient water storage the hyporheic zone and is linking these findings to long term groundwater records. |

Dan Beveridge -
PhD student Dan will be joining us in September 2012 from Genivar consulting, Alberta. He will be working on beaver as a hydrological agent in peatlands. |
| Samuel Kumahor -
PhD student Samuel will be joining us in September 2012 from VU University, Amsterdam (via a research assistant position in Germany). He will be examining groundwater-surface water interactions in high elevation mountain valleys. |

Alasdair Morrison
- MSc student Alasdair grew up in Glasgow, Scotland. He holds a BSc in Science from Dundee University and a MSc in Environmental Studies from the University of Strathclyde. He's joined us to do another MSc, focused on mapping beaver infested peatlands in the Bow River watershed, Alberta. Alasdair is using ground penetrating radar to try and 'unearth' buried beaver paleoponds. |

Allen Maher -
MSc student Allen was born in Hamilton, Ontario but grew up across the world. He graduated from the UofS with a double honours BSc in Geography and Biology in 2011. He is studying solute evolution along prairie wetland fill-and-spill sequences in St. Denis National Wildlife Area, SK. |

Amy Goodbrand
- MSc student Amy is from Broadview, SK and comes to us from Saskatchewan Watershed Authority where she worked as a research technician. Amy has a BSc in Geography and Biology from the University of Regina. She is studying how water storage in lakes and peatlands buffers groundwater flows to streams. Amy's research site is located in the boreal forest near Narrow Hills Provincial Park. |
| Stacey Dumanski
- MSc student Stacey joins us from a research assistant position at Environment Canada. Before that, she completed her BSc in Geography at the University of Saskatchewan. Her master's thesis is on prairie water quality modelling. Stacey is co-supervised by Dr. John Pomeroy, Canada Research Chair in Water Resources and Climate Change. |

Kristin Bielefeld
- MSc student Kristin joins us from a recently completed BSc in Biology at the University of Saskatchewan. Kristin is studying food web mercury contamination in beaver dammed mountain streams. Dr. Tim Jardin in the Toxicology Centre is Kristin's primary supervisor. |
