You are using Glurg's Crafting Calculator, a program designed to estimate profits and losses over time for crafters in the game Final Fantasy XI. Please send any feedback to csp620@mail.usask.ca.

As I have retired from FFXI, work on this calculator has essentially ceased. I apologize to anyone who looked forward to a finished version of the program.

If any aspiring heroes want to take over the project, please contact me.

Notes:

-One known bug in the calculation exists: HQ2/HQ3 procs on synths with no HQ2/3 result (all synths can show the HQ animations, even if they don't have results to go with them) will default to a NQ result instead of the next highest HQ result, as they should. This issue will only significantly affect a few recipes, but be aware of it.

-Cell/font sizes and colors are not finalized. This page may display incorrectly or may be difficult to read in resolutions other than 1280*1024.
-The current version only supports one synth type, single nonstacking yields. The final release was going to support most types of recipes, including stacking items, arrows, bolt/arrowheads, and many types of food.
-Some tips on using the calculator:

The two columns for ingredient costs are meant to be used either/or. Enter either a single cost or a stack cost as it suits you and the program will convert to the other automatically.
Information entered into the Skill Levels cells has no effect on the calculation; it is only used to determine your HQ tier and then highlight the corresponding HQ rate in the Long-Term cell. This section is optional.
The value used as a break rate in the Deductions cell assumes 100% critical failures. This number is more accurately called a "material loss rate."
"Within overall HQ rate" in the Custom HQ Rates cell means as a percentage of the total HQ rate. For instance, at a 50% overall HQ rate using the default values of 20% HQ2 and 10% HQ3, overall synths would be 50% NQ, 35% HQ1, 10% HQ2, and 5% HQ3.
Alter the value in the yellow section of the Long-Term cell to set your own expected HQ rate.
