Daniel Bechtel

Daniel obtained his Ph.D. in 2005 through the Toxicology Programme at the University of Saskatchewan, located in the beautiful city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada.  His studies focused on immunotoxicology with an emphasis on inhalation of select environmental contaminants.  His research included a study population of beef cattle located in the Alberta and Saskatchewan oil and natural gas production areas.  The study involved multilevel statistical analysis of exposure data, animal nutritional status, herd management practices and other variables to assess associations on the cattle immune system.

Daniels' curriculum vitae demonstrates his expertise with industry, government and academia.  He has a background in agriculture, risk assessment, regulatory affairs, analytical chemistry, and aquatic and mammalian environmental toxicology.  His primary interests include respiratory and immune health and food safety.  More recent interests include mechanistic effects of natural products on the innate immune system, and nanotechnology uses in agriculture and medicine.  He is meticulous, has an entrepreneurial drive, and a strong business background to help promote product development.

Daniel is currently Principal of his own consulting firm, PRTox Consulting Inc., which offers: project management and study director responsibilities for toxicology/environmental study development and fulfillment, unbiased evidence-based second party interpretation of scientific results generated from research and monitoring events, regulatory liaison representative, risk assessment, and quality assurance audits for regulatory and production practices.  Saskatoon has evolved in business development and research opportunities, evidenced by its research park and national synchrotron facility.  You may contact Daniel directly should you or your firm have an interest in his skill set.
