
Welcome to the Decision Making Study
What is this study about?
To participate in this study, you must be at least 18 years old. The study involves an online survey that can be completed at anytime by clicking on the link below. In general, the survey consists of a brief information page that will ask about your age, gender, and related information. You will then be given several research descriptions afterward they will be asked to decide what conclusion follows based on the evidence provided. It should take about 15 minutes to complete the survey.
You will not be required to provide any personal information that could be used to connect your identity to the information you provide on the survey. Furthermore, our web-based survey is protected by a number of security features to ensure your responses are kept confidential. There are no known risks associated with any of these procedures.
There may be no personal benefits to participating.
We understand your time is both limited and precious. However, it is because of volunteers, such as yourself, who so generously donate their time, that we are able to learn more about how people make decisions. By taking a few minutes to complete this survey you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of how people think, reason, and evaluate social science research. That being said your participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study for any reason, at any time, if you withdraw from the study at any time, any data that you have contributed will be delete and the researcher will not have access to it.
What do we do with this information?
When we report the data it is only in aggregate form and it may be published in an academic journal and presented at conferences. The information is kept on a password protected harddrive and will be stored for a minimum of five years after the completion of the study.

This study has been approved on ethical grounds by the University of Saskatchewan Behavioural Research Ethics Board on January 8, 2003. Any questions regarding your rights as a participant may be addressed to that committee through the Ethics Office (1-306-966-2084). Out of town participants may call collect.
