• FEM/BEM Notes, an introduction to the basic FEM (and BEM) method by Peter Hunter and Andrew Pullan of the Dept. of Engineering Science, Auckland University. Postscript and pdf versions of the notes may be downloaded. The contents include studies of heat conduction, linear elasticity and modal analysis. Examples illustrating the text are set using the CMISS FE package (in binary only).
• Vector Space Applications Workbook. Not really a beginner's handbook, but it provides an excellent link between theory and object-oriented FE programming with many examples. Suitable for intermediate level study. See our reviews of the VSP Workbook.
• A FEMM tutorial complements the FEMM program.
• NIST Online Turorials includes some tutorial information on various programs.
