• FELIB, A finite element library for the numerical solution of partial differential equations. Very well documented/annotated source code, and comprehensive introduction with tutorial examples make this an excellent choice for beginners. The idea is to adapt the examples to your own purposes. The documentation is part-complete and further program documents will be added over the next few months. See also our review.
