"Here are requested information about my database, MAKEBASE, which is not accessible on Internet. On Internet you can access the Finite Element Book Bibliography only. MAKEBASE is a special, menu driven database written in FORTRAN. It is an integrated database composed of two distinct parts: literature references and software information part, respectively. Main subject areas: finite elements, boundary elements, design optimisation, and expert systems. Information can be retrieved retrospectively to 1975. All areas of engineering are covered except fluid mechanics. The database is not intended as a commercial product. I provide information retrievals to many researchers in different countries on their specific requests. You pay for the amount of retrieved information (i.e. 100 references costs approximately $30). If you are not satisfied with the quality of obtained information you don't need to pay. Personally I use the database daily, usually for the writing bibliographies on various subjects. I have also cooperation with several journals."
