Computational Mechanics Co. (ProPHLEX)
- Description:
- COMCO produces hp-adaptive
FE solid and fluid mechanics codes (PHLEX), as well as a general FE
Toolkit (ProPHLEX) for FE code creation.
ProPHLEX may be applied to
any class of physical phenomena described by a system of second order
differential equations (linear or nonlinear). It has an object-oriented
open-ended design, including data structure and programming utilities
which permit the solution of user-specified problems. In addition, it
has a series of pre-built applications (see keyword list below)
which the user may also customise.
- Availability:
- See the ProPHLEX homepage. A low-cost package is
available for academic use, and
a demo of PHLEX
may be downloaded for some platforms (20/1/00: NOT CURRENTLY AVAILABLE).
- Platforms:
- Unix platforms include HP, IBM, SGI, SUN. A Windows NT
version is also available.
- Note:
- Some features of PHLEX are indicated by the following list
of keywords: analysis may be steady/unsteady, linear/nonlinear,
weakly/strongly coupled; manual/automatic mesh adaptivity, error estimation,
customisable GUI, graphics post-processing.
- Note:
- COMCO has a web site at
http://www.comco.com
which includes ``Fea World'' (qv).
- Keywords:
- solid mechanics, linear elasticity, viscoplasticity,
friction, contact, large deformation, fluid mechanics, incompressible
viscous flow, turbulence, conjugate heat transfer, compressible flows.
porous media flow, capillarity.
