Alternative Methods

There are several numerical techniques which can be used in engineering analysis (numerical solutions of partial differential equations) as alternatives to the Finite Element Method. These include Boundary Elements (BEM), Discrete Elements (DEM), Finite Difference, Finite Volume, Spectral Methods, Volume Element, and others.

This section provides links to information available electronically for these alternative solution techniques. Note that the main purpose of this resource is for the Finite Element Method, and that this section will not be supported to the same degree that the FEM sections are.
