The major prize of Canadian football is the Grey Cup, the championship of the Canadian Football League (or CFL). The premier club in the CFL is the Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club, based in Regina.

There is a women's league starting up in the region - the Western Women's Canadian Football League. The first champion of the WWCFL is the Saskatoon Valkyries!

College football is also popular. Most college teams are part of the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport formerly CIAU), including our very own Huskies. The team of the 90's have won 3 national championships in the 1990's, and played in 5.

Football is also played at the junior level. The Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL), which includes our very own Saskatoon Hilltops, 2001 CJFL Champions.

Canadian football has its own newsgroup which includes news about the CFL, the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport), and junior football clubs, such as those in the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL).
