The Toronto Raptors is Canada's only
professional
basketball team based in Toronto, Ontario. The team was
established in
1995 and they are apart of the Atlantic Division

in the NBA. The team
struggled in their early years but after acquiring Vince Carter in 1998
they made the playoffs in 2000, 2001 and 2002. Carter was the team
leader in their first playoff series win in 2001 but after a two
disappointing seasons in a row (2002-2004) he was traded away and Chris
Bosh assumed the role of team captain. The team kept
struggling but finally in 2007, under the management of Bryan
Colangelo, they qualified for their first playoff berth in five years
and also won their first division title.
