My Art

For those of you that remember Kalei, this is her magical sword

This is my favorite image of Arden, a character from a long time back

this is a bamboo arangement my mother and I made.
It sits in our family room at home. (yeah... and then it died...) (do not use metal sticks to hold them up, the rust is apparently very bad for bamboo...)

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is the first batch of cookies I have ever made all by myself from scratch!
Mmm Mmm Good

Ok... so not a piece of art, but this is my favorite picture of all time: me holding my baby sister... ~Awwwwwww~

Poetry

When the Silence Breaks  (im still working on the sp acing...forgive me if the lines are a bit off...)
--Rita Bouvier

I am a reluctant speaker
violence not just a physical thing
words are one thing
I can hold them in my hand
later embroider them like you do
fine silk on white deer hide if I want.
but dead silence, that's another matter
there is nothing to hold on to like the falling before you waken.

I imagine it this way, simply
ketahtawe ekwa - someday soon *
when the silence breaks
the deer will stop in their tracks pausing in awe
the wolverine will roll over and over
on a hillside, and you will hear my voice as if for the first time
distant and then melodic
and recognize it as your very own.

ketahtawe ekwa - someday soon   * The poet has taken some poetic license with the translation of ketahtawe ekwa - the exact translation of this phrase is "one of these days, now".

OK, not really sure who wrote this, says a kid in Bagdad, Arizona, but being Canadian i'm not even sure that place really exists ;) sooo heres one of the best poems i ever received as a foreward:
This was written by a teen in Bagdad, Arizona.

Now I sit me down at school,
Where praying is against the rule.
For this great nation under God,
Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
  Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange, or green,
  That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.
They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,
And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.
It's "inappropriate" to teach right belong.
[a line may be missing in this stanza]

We can get our condoms and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,
When chaos reigns the school's a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!

  Amen

  > > > He smiled a gentle smile and said,

  > > > "My child, the gold is for you to count your blessings,
  > > > The black is for you to let go."

(Translation for the TV edit)

One soundless midday,
the wind was fresh and clean,
and the flower petals swayed as if they were asleep.
This serene feeling...
Tell me, what's the name that people give it?
Tell me a story that's locked away in the white sand of the moon,
let me hear it as gently as light shining down.

(Melfina's version (dubbed) )

I don't know
What words I can say
The wind has a way
To talk to me
Flowers sleep
A silent lullaby
I pray for reply
I'm ready
Quiet day calms me
Oh serenity
Someone
Please tell me
Ohmm, what is it, they say?
Maybe I will know one day --

In case you are wondering, this song appears in the ending credits. --km

1. MELODRAMMA
Music and lyrics by: P. Guerrini - P. Luciani

Questa mia canzone
Inno dell’amore
tela canto adesso
con il mio dolor
così forte così grande
che mi trafigge il cuor
Ma limpido-è-il mattino
fra i campi odor di vino
io ti sognavo e adesso
ti vedo ancora lì
ah, quanta nostalgia
affresco di collina
io piango che pazzia
fu andarsene poi via.
Questa melodia
Inno dell’amore
te la canto e sento
tutto il mio dolor
così forte, così grande che mi trafigge il cuor
Ma limpido è il mattino
tra i campi un gran mulino
lì è nato il mio destino
amaro senza te
…………………….. ………..amaro senza te
E questo cuore canta
un dolce melodramma
è l’inno dell’amor
che canterò per te
è un melodramma
che che canto senza te

English translation by: N. Macdonald

This song of mine, Hymn of love I sing to you now with my pain
so strong so great it stabs my heart
But the morning is clear among the fields
the scent of wine I dreamt of you and now
I see you there ah, what memories fresco of hills
I cry what madness it was to leave and go
This melody Hymn of love I sing to you and feel
all my pain so strong, so great it stabs my heart
But the morning is clear among the fields
a windmill rises there my destiny was born bitter without you …………………………. ……………. bitter without you
And this heart sings a sweet melodrama
it’s the hymn of love I’ll sing for you
it’s a melodrama I sing without you
