CRA-W Grad Co-hort Workshop
It's a workshop just for female graduate students studying science and engineering. I went last year and met a lot of new people. I had never seen so many female engineers and scientists in one place before. It was so amazing. This year, because it's my second year attending, I was required to make a poster of my research. I've made my poster available in case you want to see it.
Award for Excellence and Supervision
In 2008, I was elected to be on the award committee for selecting an advisor for the "Award for Excellence and Supervision" in the Computer Science department at the University of Saskatchewan. The committee was responsible for selecting the recipient of the award for the 2008-2009 school year, choosing the format of the award, and presenting the award during an appropriate ceremony.
CS Graduate Course Council
From 2007 to 2010, I have been a part of the Computer Science Graduate Course Council at the University of Saskatchewan. I had never been in student council before but it seemed like it would be fun. We organize events for both graduate students and faculty in the computer science department.
