Almond Brittle

  • Bake sliced almonds at 250F (Fahrenheit) until lightly browned and you can smell the aroma
5 whole eggs Mix these three ingredients together with a mixer
4 egg whites
1.5 cup sugar

  • Sift in 1 1/3 (1.33) cup flour with a strainer and stir slowly with an egg beater to avoid bubbles.
  • Let the mix sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours to remove air bubbles
  • Scoop up bubbles from the top of the chilled mix with a spoon and discard
  • Use a spoon to spread the mix onto an aluminum foil sheet (or parchment paper) as thinly as possible
  • Sprinkle the sliced almonds on top
  • Bake at 250F for about an hour or until brown.
