Scope of Geological Engineering

Case Histories Outline Outline

The scope Geological Engineering is very broad including aspects of Civil, Mining, Petroleum and Environmental Engineering. The discipline has grown from the quantitative geological sciences including geophysics, hydrogeology, rock mechanics, and petroleum and mining geology.

Geological engineers investigate a wide range of problems related to the hydrosphere and geosphere.

Saskatchewan relies on the mining and petroleum sector for a very high percentage of provincial revenues. Many major dam and water resources projects are undertaken in British Columbia. Alberta is the home of the Canadian petroleum industry.
