Outline
There are four examinations over the 13 week course. Additional marks are assigned
for the weekly laboratory sessions. The mark assignment is as follows:
10% ROCK AND MINERAL LAB EXAM
30% MID TERM LECTURE EXAM
15% FINAL LAB EXAM
35% FINAL LECTURE EXAM
10% WEEKLY LABS
Students repeating the course may be granted a lab
exemption if their laboratory mark was more than 65%. To
obtain an exemption you must contact Jerri Dause, Room 253, Geology Building.
Students with credit for any geology course with a laboratory component
may be eligible for a lab exemption.
GEOL 110.6 is not accepted by the College of Engineering as a transfer credit for
GEOE 118.3 but a lab exemption may be granted.
Students failing to hand in more than two laboratory assignments will receive an
incomplete grade (INF) for the course. An incomplete grade (INF) is a fail.
A zero mark will be assigned for any of the weekly labs that are handed in late.
