Rave #3 -- Friends... :))
I have to admit it....
I have some pretty great friends. For all that I will complain about them, they are really great people and I love them all... :) And just because, I want to write about them here...
Rob:
Okay... I admit it, my husband is one of my best friends. I guess this isn't much of a surprise to most people; if I couldn't trust him and tell him things why would I bother marrying him, right? Sometimes I complain about him... but I always love him.
The hardest thing for me is that Rob is away so much, and when he is away it is very hard to stay in contact with him. Sure we have email... but that just isn't the SAME as having someone there to TALK to every day!! And with my crazy schedule at school being the way that it is often we don't get to talk on the phone much. But that does not change the fact that he is my friend in the world right now...
Collette has been my friend since grade 9... previously we were "enemies". I can't remember WHY we were enemies, but it really doesn't matter much now. For the past 12 years we have been friends, even best friends. We wrote to each other after I moved to Saskatoon from Hudson Bay, and when Collette lived in France for 8 months. We struggled through Grade 10 French together, and French 120.6 in first year. We lived together in Seager Wheeler in second year, and for four months after convocation. She stood up as my Maid of Honour for my wedding... All in all we have been pretty good friends through the years.
Gale:
Gale and I have been friends for about a year now. Before that time we KNEW each other, we had met through a group that we had both belonged to, but had never really gotten to know each other until the group went kaput. Over the past year we have grown to know each other better, and have become friends. We try to meet for coffee at least once a week, and movies and Tarot readings on Saturdays. She makes sure that I eat when Rob is up North...and teases me mercilessly about the stupid little things I do sometimes... (which I admit I fully DESERVE to be teased about)...
Drew:
Drew is an old friend of mine that I have recently reconnected with after a pause of about 5 years. I can't remember WHY we didn't talk for 5 years, but it really doesn't matter now, because he has become one of my best friends again. What can I say about Drew?? He is one of the nicest men I have ever had a chance to meet; he's like a brother kinda... (although nothing at all like MY brother, who is best left for a rant of some sort in the future).
Serin:
Serin is an Internet friend of mine. I have been chatting with him for about 8 months on ICQ now :). Talking to him never fails to bring a smile to my face or lighten my day... and I love having people like that around.
