Intercalation of carbonaceous (dark) and less carbonaceous phyllites Intercalation of phyllite and carbonate layers
Conglomerates with carbonate clasts. Note the elongation of the latter along the S1 fabric due to deformation Carbonaceous phyllite with layers of diagenetic pyrite
Layers of diagenetic pyrite in carbonaceous phyllite. Note the boudinage of some of the pyrite layers. Layering is parallel to S1 BSE image of carbonaceous phyllite with diagenetic pyrite. # modes of diagenetic pyrite are present: 1) layered 2) framboidal 3) disseminated
Reflected light. 2 modes of diagenetic pyrite: 1) angular sub- to euhedral pirite (scattered throughout) and 2) framboidal (in the center) Boudinaged carbonate-quartz veins parallel to the S1 were later folded along with S1 fabric (D2 episode)
Parallel to S1 quatrz-carbonate-chlorite-sericite veins are folded in dm to m-scale folds. Syn-S1 (horizontal) veins are crosscut by an array of sigmoidal veins, probably related to the D3 episode
