Dear Parents and Friends:
Saskatoon Chinese Language School starts as the public schools begin.
There are 5 language classes and two extracurricular classes this term. The spring term registration will start on January 8, 2000. There will be grade 5 class starting from spring term. However, this will largely depend on you, the parents, willing or not to give your children a chance to learn their mother-tone language or as a second language that is spoken by more than 1.2 billion people in the world and will give your children potential in their future. The school fee is only $80 for whole school year (September to June) and $40 for each term. The school is at Aden Bowman Collegiate located at corner of Taylor ST and Clarence Ave. Classes start from 1:30-4:30pm every Saturday.
It has been 24 years since the Saskatoon Chinese Language School was established in 1975. It is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organization. The objects of our school are to teach the Chinese language, to teach about the Chinese culture and tradition by offering dance, crafts and other extra-curriculum activities. The instruction language of our school is Chinese Mandarin with simplified-version character and Han Yu Pin Yin for regular language classes and oral Chinese Cantonese for adult class. The student resources are children and teens whose parents came from China and individuals who are interested in learning Chinese Language in Mandarin with simplified Chinese character and Han Yu Pin Yin. Each school year has two terms, commencing in September and January respectively, to coincide with the school terms of the public school. The school is run by the Board members who are interested in and willing to spend their spare time to help and serve for our community. No remuneration, no compensation is payable to members of the Board, except for reimbursement of expenses paid out on behalf of the school. Only teachers of the school get honorarium.
