Graffiti the World

July 13th, 2009...

This is possibly the most important song that I've heard in a while! It was recently brought to my attention by my buddy Prasun! First thing I did when I came home was find it on YouTube and listen to the lyrics. It's a very powerful song and I really recommend everyone to listen to it! I wish I had the resources because I have such a perfect idea for making the music video to this song!

Justin...Saskatoon misses you!

July 06th, 2009...

I was just browsing through all my YouTube videos today, and started watching the concert videos I took of Justin Nozuka last year when he came to Saskatoon! Still such a breathtaking performer, I'm always so captivated by his voice/music! I can't wait for him to do his next Canadian tour! Hopefully it's soon! They've already been touring quite a lot around the world - I've been keeping in touch with the members :p! However, I say it's about time for them to come back to Saskatoon! Can't wait to hear his new songs!!

Check out the playlist of last years concert, I have all the videos recorded and posted up on YouTube! Enjoy!

So You Think You Can Dance Canada!

February 9th, 2009...

So, this weekend the "So You Think You Can Dance" Canada Tour was in SASKATOON, and I was fortunate enough to be able to go watch it. My parents had an extra ticket because my dad ended up having to work that night, so I was able to go and enjoy the SECOND ROW seats! :D The show was quite stunning. They are all such amazing dancers and it was definitely a whole different experience than watching them on TV/YouTube. Of course, we ended up staying afterwards and waiting for them to come out and meet the fans. Waiting for them was pretty funny: Tom, a security guard on the other side of the barricade, was chatting to us the whole time and we definitely shared a few good laughs! He will be remembered! :P

Then the stars came out to greet us, some even stayed for a short chat. Isaac and Nico were the last to come out. After the crowd dispersed towards the end, Isaac and Nico were still around, so I had a little chat with them and when I told Isaac that I bboy he told me to "bust out man!" so I did some toprock and my regular nike one-handed freeze! :P They told me to keep it up! Haha, I still can't believe I danced in front of THEM!!!! Probably looked like an idiot, but it was still a memorable experience nonetheless! :)

I wish them all the best in their future, a lot of them are very humble people and it was a pleasure meeting them, even if it was just a brief 'hello' and taking a photo with them! :D

The Art of Streetboarding

January 19th, 2009...

"Oh boys just wanna have fun!" If there was ever a song like that, it would probably refer to us doing something really crazy and stupid, like streetboarding. The ingredients are a truck, a wakeboarding rope, a snowboard, and a snowy street that hasn't been cleaned yet. Optional accessories include: strong teeth and bones, and warm clothing...this is however optional. Make sure you don't fall! Or get caught >_>!

Observations from the Nebula

October 20th, 2008...

My good friend Saif is part of the duo Future Weapon and they teamed up with Lab Raptor to release their first track Observations from the Nebula. It seems that these guys produced a song true to its title. The bright piano, the alien strings, the background ahh's, and the echoing voices really make you feel like you are among the stars. This isn't just their first official song, but I would say this is their first masterpiece, and I'm really excited to hear everything they are going to offer. I have faith that it will just keep getting better!

My life and style

October 19th, 2008...

I was recently featured in the Life/Style section of the Saskatoon newspaper Planet S. It all came about on a regular "busy" day on campus. The boyz and I were sitting in Upper Place Riel, just relaxing on the couches. I had my ghetto blaster with me and started playing some music. Just as I got up and was about to do some dancing, these two lovely ladies came up to me and told me of their plight. They wrote for Planet S, and needed someone to feature in weekly fashion column.

So apparently I was fashionable enough that day to grab their attention (I'm pretty sure it was mainly my hat and my breakdancing glove that did the job). They asked me a few questions: mainly about what I was wearing and how much it was. They made some errors though, I guess they thought that Cyprus was part of Italy, but its actually an independent nation on its own in the Mediterranean for those of you who don't know. No biggie though. I feel really honoured that they chose to interview me for their column. It's a great idea in general, and it sounds like tons of fun. They get to roam around the city and pick out funky people to chat with and take photos of. I wouldn't mind a job like that! =P .... part-time of course...haha

Planet S is a great magazine though. My favourite section is the one where they recommend music. Most of it is indie stuff, but that's just what I like: getting to know of new bands that don't have much exposure yet! So check out Planet S! You can click on the photo for the original article.

Chinese brush painting: plum blossoms

October 12th, 2008...

What happens when you take black + white + red interior paint, add a few paint brushes, multiply by an empty wall, square it with a sister eager to have something pretty on that wall...well...FUN happens. A while ago my sister saw me doodling a cherry blossom tree, and as a result she asked me to paint something similar in her room. As a result, my sister got a birthday present from me (albeit a late one).

This was my first attempt ever at painting. I always used to try drawing anime when I was younger, but those were nothing but pencil sketches and I'd always use a reference picture/photo. I can't draw from the top of my head, I'm not THAT talented. =P So yes, I DID have a reference photo for this painting, couldn't have done it otherwise.

Anyways, it was lots of fun to do this. I think I'm gonna add some more to the tree: maybe more branches, and finish the right side. That being said, I am open to hire. If you need a wall painted, I'll do it...for FREE...just provide me with some bread and salami. Fun guaranteed, but satisfaction (whether it'll turn out good) ...hmm...not so much... lol
