ZOONOSES
The potential spread of FeLV to humans is controversial. Some
strains of FeLV can be grown in human tissue culture which shows there
is a possibility of transmission to humans (4). However, studies
have shown no evidence that a zoonotic risk exists with natural
infection as of yet (4). It has been found that cats with FeLV
are more likely to pass C parvum and salmonellosis into the human
environment (2).
