A
family of animals which, among
others, includes raccoons. Natural Canine
Distemper virus infections have been recorded in the raccoon. The
clinical presentation in the resembles that of the domestic
dog. Cystitis and pyuria are common and sometimes jaundice is
associated with Canine Distemper infection. This virus is endemic
in some North American Raccoon populations, so they may act as a reservoir for domestic dogs and zoo
populations (Deem et al., 2000).
